Raila's Weak Last Bullet For Presidency 2022.

Raila is again vying for president 2022?

Raila’s close political allies have consequently stated that, Raila will again go for presidency in the next election. Raila is also on record saying that he would’t mind running for presidential position again in 2022.

Hon Raila Odinga first ran for president in the 1997 election, coming 3rd after former president Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki. Since then he never gave up and keep on attempting but he has never won. He was defeated by Mwai Kibaki two times and also president Uhuru Kenyatta won against him in 2013 and 2017 general elections.

Raila’s strong bullet that never won.

During 2017 general, Raila Odinga announced that he was going to try it again for the last time. He had claimed that he has one remaining last bullet that make make him winner.

Kalonzo Musyoka of wiper party, Musalia Mudavadi of Amani National Congress Party, Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya party and Isaac Ruto of Chama Cha Mashinani party came out to support Raila on hist last attempt under NASA Coalition. Unfortunately Raila lost again.

This time Raila Odinga had huge support from Nyanza, Coast, Western Kenya and North Rift.

Raila’s Weak Last Bullet.

Now that Raila has shown signs of running again in the next election, where he is likely to face deputy president William Ruto, things might not be the same again. This is because his support from most of the regions that supported him last election seems to be shifting.

Most of the politicians who supported him last election, like Musalia Mudavadi have stated clearly that he will not support him again. Kalonzo Musyoka also noted that this time round he will not accept to support anybody since he also deserve to be supported.

Further more Coast region where Raila has been enjoying huge support seems to be changing the tune. At one point Coast governors held a meeting where they discussed about forming their own party.

Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho who has been close to Raila has also announced that he will go for presidency 2022. This means he will compete with Raila and other candidates. Joho vying for president is a big blow to Raila because he has been his main political pillar in coast region.

So without the support from Coast region, Western, Eastern and part of Rift Valley, it will be very hard for Raila Odinga to win 2022 election. Nairobi seems to be shifting also. Therefore it is not guarantee that Central Kenya will vote for Raila following his current relationship with president Uhuru Kenyatta.
