Gen Samson Mwathethe Back In The Village.

Exactly one day after handing over handing over Chief of Defense Forces designate to the new Chief of defense forces, General Robert Kibochi, Gen Samson Mwathethe is back to the village.

Former Chief of Defense Forces has been spending his time in the village with his villagers. Samsom Mwathethe is a resident of Kilifi county, a village called Bamba.

In the picture doing around on social media, it is reported that Samson Mwathethe together with his village friends had gone to visit his grandmother.

Kenyans will always be Kenyans, they analyse the picture of Samson Mwathethe in the village. They questioned that if the mad house seen in the background is his grandmother’s house, then it is shameful for him.

There are also rumours doing around that, Samson is planning to join politics, and that he might run for gubernatorial position in Kilifi county come 2022.

Even though, Gen. Samson Mwathethe has not confirmed the rumors yet, most of the Kilifi residence seems to be pushing him to run for governor in the county.

General Samson Mwathethe joined military in 1978, and on 17th of April 2015, he was promoted to the position of Chief of Defense Forces, the highest appointment in the Kenya Armed Forces.

He served as Chief of Defense Forces for a period of 5 years. On 9th of May 2022, he retired from the service, at the age of 60 years.

During his time in the military, he held various commands appointments which includes;

  • Vice Chief of Defense Forces.
  • Deputy Commander Kenya Navy
  • Commander Kenya Navy
  • Kenya Navy Logistics Commander
  • Base Commander Mtogwe
  • Fleet Commander

During the change of command ceremony that was held at the Kenya Defense Forces headquarters, Gen Samson Mwathethe launched Kenya Defense Forces new book, titled ‘War For Peace’. The book is all about Kenya’s Military in the African Mission in Somalia for the last 9 years.
