Salat: I Was Right. "KANU Tuko Ndaaani Kabisa"

Kanu part secretary general, the former Bomet county senatorial aspirant, Nick Salat’s 2017,”Tuko Ndaaaani Ndaaani Kabisa” statement seems to be coming to pass.

During the 2017 campaigns, Nick Salat became famous countrywide from his Swahili statement, “Tuko Ndaaaani Ndaani Kabisa”, which translate to “We Are Really Deep Inside.”

From this statement he was simply meaning that Kenya African National Union, KANU party was supporting president Uhuru Kenyatta, and therefore the party was inside Jubilee government.

With the rumors that there is a plan to remove Elgeiyo Marakwet senator, Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen from the senate majority seat to pave way for West Pokot senator, Samuel Poghisio, means that Nick Salat statement is coming to pass. Samuel is a member of KANU.

This changes are expected after it was reported that there is a coalition agreement between KANU, the former ruling party, and Jubilee party. It is reported that the agreement has been submitted to the registrar of political parties.

The changes in the senate is also expected to affect Nakuru senator Susan Kihika, who will lose her Majority Chief Whip position to Muranga senator Irungu Kangata.

Susan Kihika has all along be the strong supporter of deputy president William Ruto. And she has many times announced that she support DP Ruto for president come 2022.

On Monday 11th, president Uhuru is expected to hold a parliamentary group meeting with invited Jubilee invited senators. It is believed that the changes will be announced during this event. Even though the agenda of the said meeting has not been revealed.

According to Moses Kuria, the following senators have been invited to attend the meeting;

  • Ephraim Maina – Senator Nyeri county.
  • Kimani Wamatangi – Senator Kiambu county.
  • Kang’ata Irungu – Senator Murang’a county.
  • Johnson Sakaja – Senator Nairobi county.
  • Dr. Ali – Senator Wajir county.
  • Yusuf Haji – Garissa county senator.
  • Fatuna Dulloo – Senator Isiolo county.
  • Beth Mugo – Nominated senator
  • Issac Mwaura – Nominated senator.
  • Farhiya Haji – Nominated senator.

Following Nick Salat statement, President Uhuru Kenyatta seems to be rewarding Baringo senator Gideon Moi for being loyal to him for that long, and therefore sneaking in KANU in to the government.

If the changes will be as expected, then indeed Nick Salat was right that KANU is really deep inside.

Kenyans now are starting to think that may be President Uhuru is paving way for Gideon Moi to the top seat. Remember before the death of former president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, several meetings were held at his home. Meetings up to date no one knows the agenda, since it was hidden in the name of ‘visiting moi’.
