Two Police Officers In Trouble With Matiangi Over First Corona Case In Bomet.

Two police officers who helped a corona positive patient to sneak into his home in Bomet county, are in trouble with the Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi.

According to Bomet county resident, Korir Nakiko, the police officers helped the patient to enter the county using a GK vehicle and they escorted him up to his home, Kagawet village in Chepalungu constituency.

It was reported that the victim, male aged 55 years was admitted at the Longisa County Referral Hospital on Monday, 4th of May 2020, having been diagnosed with diabetes.

Unfortunately, the patient did not manage to survive. He died on Tuesday 5th of May after which his samples were taken and tested at a KEMRI in Kisumu county.And the results turn out that the patient was positive of corona virus.

It is reported that the deceased had traveled from Nairobi county to his home in Bomet county, and was later taken to Longisa County Referral Hospital after complains of diabetes, where he was admitted.

People from the village where the deceased comes from are already panicking since it is reported that, the deceased mingled with many of his relatives, who also mingled with other villagers.

So far 16 members of the family have been taken to quarantine facility at Kaplong Girls High School.

Residence of Bomet county now now blame the corrupt police officers who sneaked the patient into the county, risking the lives of many innocent residence.

Unfortunately this is happening at the time when the president had banned movement in and out of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale.

The whole blame is now on the police. Nakiko Korir complained that the road block that was erected between Bomet county and Narok county border is being used by the police as decoys and conduits for taking bribes to allow such cases to enter into the county.
