Five Senators Allied To DP Ruto Thrown Out Of Senate Chairmanship.

Five Jubilee party senators who are said to be close allies to the deputy president William Ruto, have been removed from chairing various committees in the senate.

The announcement concerning the changes was made by the senate Majority Chief Whip, senator Irungu Kangata at the Jubilee party headquarters.

The five senators who who were negatively affected by the changes includes;

  1. John Kinyua – Senator for Laikipia County.
  2. Franklin Mithika Linturi – Senator for Meru County.
  3. Christopher Langat – Senator for Bomet county.
  4. Samson Cherargei – Senator for Nandi county.

According to the Majority Chief Whip Irungu Kangata, the effect of the changes means that, Laikipia county senator, Hon. John Kinyua will cease being the senate chairman for devolution.

Frankline Mithika Linturi, Meru county senator will cease being a member of park and also from being a vice chair for legal committee.

Bomet county senator, Doctor Christopher Langat will cease from being chairman of education committee and Nandi county senator will no longer be senate chairman for legal committee.

According to the Majority Chief Whip, the affected senators was as a result of their failure to attend the state house parliamentary group meeting that was held on 13th  of May 2020.

It is also believed that the removal of the above senators, was a way of punishing them for going against the party leader to support deputy president William Ruto, who seems not to be reading from the same book with the president.

During the senate meeting to remove senator Kindiki from being the deputy speaker in the senate, out of all the senators who were present, only seven of then voted NO in favor of Kindiki.

It seems the Jubilee party is dedicated to punish all the seven by removing them and replacing with those senators who comply with the party leader system.

With the ongoing wrangles in Jubilee party, NASA COALITION, especially Orange Democratic party, that seems to be supporting the system, is expected to benefit from the changes in the senate and also in the National Assembly.
