KAJIADO COUNTY LAND REFORMS

More than 12,000 plot owners in Kajiado County  urban centers have heaved a sigh of relief after their prime plots were issued with new generation allotment letters

The 12,657 plots spread in 26 satellite  towns and trading centers were given a new bill of health after the conclusion of a validation process by the Department of Lands under hawk eye of Lands CECM Harmilton Persaina.

The towns that experience a huge influx of buyers from Nairobi were the first to benefit with most of the validated plots being in Namanga, Ng’atataek, Emali, Sultan Hamud, Rombo, Olooloitikoshi, Isinya, Oloitokitok, Isinet, Oltepesi, Mashuuru , Sholinke and Masimba.
The beneficiaries lauded the initiative saying there have always been subjected to unscrupulous land  grabbing cartels gimmicks.

Former Councillors are said to have mastered the matrix of multiple plots allocations in all county satellite towns to win favor with the electorates.

Governor Joseph Ole Lenku  launched the issuance of the new generation allotment letters in yet another milestone on a sector that defines Kajiado’s economy. The new move is set be a major step towards resolving thousands of cases of illegal land allocations, most of which are claimed by more than one person.

The documents, the Governor announced, had been subjected to enough security characteristics and several financial institutions in the County had accepted to have them as collateral for loans.

He added that the validation process which will now move to another 50 towns in all the sub counties in the next phase was set to drastically  reduce cases of dis-inheritance by rogue family members as well as illegal sale of land to unsuspecting investors.
